Earth's Structure and Processes

Tectonic Plates

Focuses on the movement of Earth's thin crust plates known as the lithosphere.

Watershed

By creating a model of a watershed, students will learn how water flows through and the general characteristics of a watershed.

Erosion

Students use a variety of materials to experiment with erosion prevention.

The Earth Through Time

Color maps of the earth illustrating land formations during various eras of the geologic time table. (pdf only)

Snack Tectonics

Students use common snacks to understand plate boundaries and motion.

Exploring Plate Boundaries

Student activity sheet that accompanies the Snack Tectonics lesson plan.

What is the Water Like in Our River?

Lesson plans and teacher guides developed by the University of Michigan, focuses on an aquatic ecosystem, particularly watersheds. (pdf only)
