Graduate StudentsGraduate Director's Note to Prospective Students
Thank you for your interest in the Department of Chemical Engineering. I hope that you consider the possibility of continuing your education at the graduate level here at the University of South Carolina. Please visit our Department's web site at www.che.sc.edu for a complete introduction to our program. You may want to look at the following pages in particular: As you will see, there is an explosion taking place in Chemical Engineering at the University of South Carolina. The Department of Chemical Engineering at USC has state-of-the-art facilities, a dynamic faculty and vigorous research programs. In fact, for the past four years, the Department has ranked among the top twenty in the U.S. in terms of federal research funding. We continue to add outstanding new faculty to strengthen existing research efforts and develop new ones. Additional incentives for our Ph.D. candidates are the wide selection of research topics, the out-of-state tuition waiver, and the very high twelve-month stipends. I am confident in saying that only very few select programs in the United States can match what we can offer to our graduate students. After you examine our web pages, feel free to call me toll free at 800.763.0527 [from within the U.S.] to discuss any question you may have. You may also send me questions via e-mail at chegrad@engr.sc.edu. If you wish to apply for admission, we prefer that you do so over the Internet. Just click to go to gradschool.sc.edu and click on "Application." The website provides full instructions as well as all forms. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon! Sincerely, Dr. Harry J.
