GRANT grads growing

A while ago, Research and Health Sciences and its SAM (Sponsored Awards Management) unit announced the graduation of the pilot GRANT (Gamecock Research Administrators Networking and Training) program class. Now, several classes later, more than 70 USC staff members representing most of the schools and colleges across the Columbia campus are now GRANT graduates.

Referring to their important role in faculty proposal development, Provost Mark Becker said, "Research administrators’ support of faculty sponsored research efforts is key to USC's continued development as a top-tier research university.”

At the most recent graduation ceremony, Vice President for Research and Health Sciences Harris Pastides said, “All our GRANT graduates are to be commended for the standards of excellence they have set for future program participants. The energy they’ve expended and the expertise they’ve acquired while maintaining their daily work responsibilities clearly demonstrate their commitment to advancing our University’s research profile.”
