E-mail Usage Policy for CEC

The mail system provided by the College of Engineering is to be used in an appropriate manner, and to be used for the distribution of information related to the College and its activities.
Inappropriate use of the mail system includes, but is not limited to: Spam mail, junk mail, personal solicitation, chain letters, and mail not related to the purpose or activities of the college.
Only appropriate Faculty and Staff are allowed to send appropriate messages to distribution list. This policy does not allow for Students to do mass mailings to all the users or distribution lists on the system, and explicitly denies Students such practices.
Organizations and Students are not allowed to send mail to all users or college defined distribution list. If a Student or Organization needs to send appropriate mail to a distribution list, then it must be sent from the appropriate Faculty or Staff member for that organization or student.
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action such as, but not limited to, having the offender’s mail access privilege revoked.
