The College's Network: Network and Access

Our network is made up of a collapsed backbone in a Cisco Catalyst series switch with redundant supervisors. There are gigabit fiber connections to each network closet. In each closet there are Cisco workgroup switches that provide a full duplex 100 megabits/sec to each wall jack.
There is also a gigabit fiber connection to the university's core router. From there we access the Internet and the university's backbone network.
There is also a wireless network for public spaces such as classroom, conference rooms, and the courtyard. Click here to learn more about the Wireless Network and how to access it.
Remote Access
You may access our network with your existing Internet connection via our Microsoft Windows Virtual Private Network Server (VPN). Please be sure that the machine you are connecting from is: (a) not infected, (b) has all of the necessary security patches, and (c) the anti-virus software is up to date and operational. Remote access users with computers not properly patched will have remote access privileges revoked.
In an effort to enhance security remote access is disabled by default for all students. Students must provide documentation that their computer is fully patched and virus-free before remote access is granted.
