Print Quota FAQ

Goal

Provide a reasonable limit for Engineering Students printing.

Criteria

• Stem the abuses and continue to provide this free service.
• Set quotas such that the majority of the Students can perform the necessary printing function of the Engineering College.
• Automated tracking tool w/ very low management requirements.

Scope

• Stem the abuses and continue to provide this free service.
• Set quotas such that the majority of the Students can perform the necessary printing function of the Engineering College.
• Automated tracking tool w/ very low management requirements.

Criteria

• Only the printers in the College-wide PC labs (not in research or departmental PC labs) will be tracked.
• All of the accounts on the Engineering Domain will be tracked.

Print Limit

• 500 pages total / semester = 400 pages per semester + 100 pages of "mess-ups"
• 500 pages for the entire summer
