National alliance for pre-engineering programs involving middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities in partnership with industry and professional organizations. Courses augment math and science courses now offered in our high schools; through PLTW, high school students can earn college credit for engineering courses taken in high school.
Current high school classes – preferably AP Science classes and Project Lead the Way classes – spend 4 hours (including a break for lunch) engaging in a topic specific, hands-on activity that will peak a student's interest in: the ELE topic, Engineering/Computing as a career path, and the College of Engineering and Computing at USC in general providing students a hands-on learning experience on a real college campus with real college students and real college professors.
The College of Engineering and Computing hosts a variety of summer camps and experience programs for students in middle and high school.
The Edison Lecture Series is held on a yearly basis with the goal of the Lecture Series to introduce middle and high school students to applications and impacts of engineering and computing.
eWeek is the highlight of our College where we get to celebrate engineering and computer science during the third week of February with events that include daily seminars and our very popular Open House for K-12, where we open our doors to the general public to show our research and labs at an event which draws crowds of a thousand or more each year.
