About Project Lead the WayProject Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national alliance for pre-engineering programs. The alliance involves middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities in partnership with industry and professional organizations. The objective is to address the needs in America, now and in the future, for highly skilled technology workers. PLTW offers a well thought out and detailed curriculum. The PLTW courses do not supplant any existing courses; instead they augment the math and science courses now offered in our high schools. Through PLTW, high school students can earn college credit for engineering courses taken in high school.
We in the College of Engineering and Computing are excited to be a PLTW National Affiliate. Having USC as an affiliate means that our high school teachers will be trained in South Carolina to introduce and teach the PLTW courses in our schools. Most important is that the South Carolina teachers will have the support, year round, of the Affiliate Professors in the College. We hope that you in the South Carolina business community will partner with us, the College of Education and the South Carolina Department of Education to insure that the highly trained engineers, scientists and technicians needed in our industries will be available. Note for Participants: Carolina Shuttle Summer RoutesThe Carolina Shuttle will be operating a limited service during thesummer months. Information on routes and times can be found by clicking here. If you have questions, please contact the Shuttle Office at 803.777.1080. |
