- First and foremost: STARBUCKS! New location at 831 Gervais Street in the Vista and in Five Points at 747 Saluda Avenue. There are more scattered throughout town, but these are the closest locations to get your caffeine fix. Web site with location maps
- Sonic: Located right across Assembly Street from Swearingen Engineering Center. Open 24 hours. There is outdoor/patio seating available if you walk over.
- Wendy's: Located on the corner of Greene Street and Assembly Street.
- Subway: Up one block from Wendy's, located in the Shell station.
- California Dreaming: American cuisine, located between Main Street and Assembly Street - right next to Swearingen and 300 Main Street engineering buildings. Web site
- Beezer's (subs): Located at Greene and Sumter Streets near the Horseshoe. Beezer's is the late-night destination for many a college student, and has pretty fast service. What they don't have, however, is much space for a team to eat -- we advise taking your food across the street to the USC Horseshoe, spreading out, and enjoying fresh air. They also deliver, with the minimum depending on what part of town you're in.
- The Russell House: Located on the corner of Bull and Greene Street, The Russell House is USC's student union, which contains a Burger King, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, as well as a few house-brand eateries. Web site for list of eateries and info
- Moe's Southwest Grill: Located at 625 S. Main Street - within walking distance of the Horseshoe and engineering buildings. Web site
- Shane's Rib Shack: Newly opened, next door to Moe's at 629 S. Main Street. Open Monday through Sunday, 11 am to 9 pm. Web site
- Firehouse Subs: 633 Main Street. Open Monday through Saturday, 10:30 am to 10 pm; Sunday, 10:30 am to 9 pm. Online ordering available. Web site
- Sandy's Famous Hot Dogs: 825 S. Main Street.
- Hunter-Gatherer Brewery-Alehouse: 900 S. Main Street. Serves American food. Casual atmosphere. Is a pub. Opens at 4 pm (not open at lunch).
- Miyo's on Main: Fine Szechuan cuisine located at 922 S. Main Street. Web site
- Tios Mexican Cafe: 928 S. Main Street.
- Immaculate Consumption: Delicatessen food - sandwiches, soups, baked goods and more. Casual atmosphere. Located at 933 Main Street.
- Carolina Bagel Company: Located a stone's throw from the Horseshoe at 945 Sumter Street. Serves variety of foods including American, pasteries, sandwiches, and of course, bagels. Casual atmosphere. Open Monday through Friday, 7 am to 6 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8 am to 3 pm. Free delivery.
- The Vista: Location to many different types of eateries from sit-down, like Carolina Wings, Wild Wing Café, and IHoP, to quick bite/drive-thru/take-out like McDonald's, Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches and newly-opened Five Guys Burgers. If you have a sweet-tooth, there's also a Marble Slab Ice Cream parlor and Nonnah's has the best desserts in town.
