College of Engineering and Computing Faculty Search: Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, University 0f South Carolina


The College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina seeks highly qualified individuals as part of a cluster of faculty with research and teaching expertise in the area of SolidOxide Fuel Cells (SOFC’s).

Duties are to develop a strong educational and externally funded collaborative research program in the SOFC Fuel Cell Program housed in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Tenured or tenure-track appointments will be made in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering at a rank and salary commensurate with candidate’s credentials.

Ph.D. in Engineering or related field with SOFC modeling background and commitment to excellence in teaching and research required.

Prefer individuals with demonstrated expertise in any of the following: multi-physics modeling of SOFC fuel cells and fuel cell systems; coupled nonlinear analysis of systems, controls, and processes and experience with associated computational codes; candidates with expertise in chemistry, chemical engineering,materials and catalysts associated with SOFC also sought.

Candidate must meet tenure and promotion criteria of home department.
